Summary
Ahead Group is looking for an ADAS Software Test Engineer to join a global engineering consultancy supporting leading automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. The role focuses on verification and validation of ADAS-related functions across MILS, SILS, and HILS environments, contributing to the safety, reliability, and advancement of next-generation mobility solutions.
Responsibilities
• Execute and consolidate results from xILS testing (MILS, SILS, HILS) and bench tests
• Build, maintain, and operate xILS test benches
• Design, create, and manage test cases
• Provide onsite customer support and build trusted client relationships
• Optimize test processes and promote test automation
• Support quality, reliability, and compliance with global automotive standards
Required Skills
• Experience in the automotive, mobility, or tech industry
• Hands-on experience validating embedded systems in automotive environments
• Proven experience building and using MILS/SILS/HILS environments for verification and calibration
• Experience with Google Test for software module verification
• Strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, CAN-FD, CAN-XL, FlexRay, Ethernet)
• Experience with vehicle protocol analysis tools (CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe, or equivalent)
• Programming experience in C/C++ and Python
• Business-level Japanese & English
• Strong stakeholder communication skills with clients and vendors
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in teams
• Structured, logical thinking with strong problem-solving capabilities
• Practical experience using MS Office tools (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Word)
Desired Skills
• Degree or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
• Experience delivering technical solutions related to AD/ADAS products or services
• Knowledge of ISO 26262, A-SPICE, and AUTOSAR
• Experience creating plant models
• System modeling experience using SysML
• Test automation experience
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
• ISTQB or JSTQB certification
• Experience with security testing
