Company History
Ahead Consulting was founded in 2014 in Tokyo, Japan, to provide high quality IT services to the finance and insurance industries. Ahead Consulting has since expanded with offices in Hong Kong and Singapore to support regional clients.
Ahead Group Ltd. was established in 2017 as the regional holding company for all Ahead subsidiaries.
Ahead Staffing was established in 2017 as an affiliate of Ahead Consulting to address the need for permanent recruitment and dispatch hiring in Japan.
Ahead Systems is our latest entity, established in 2023 as a specialized systems developer, with our premiere product Paradigm launching in Q3 to bring a user friendly and secure paperless system to SMEs through large Enterprise organizations.
CEO Edmund Gehringer
Edmund Gehringer is the CEO and Regional Director of Ahead Group. Born in Silicon Valley, California, Edmund’s passion for technology began with his first home computer, a Commodore 64. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and started his career during the ‘dot.com’ boom, working at Hewlett Packard and other tech companies.
In 2006, Edmund transitioned to the finance industry, moving to Japan to work for Merrill Lynch. He later held project management roles at Nikko Citi, Barclay’s Capital, and Morgan Stanley. In 2008, he co-founded ITCS Japan, focusing on managed service solutions for finance clients.
In 2014, Edmund founded Ahead Consulting K.K., providing consulting and managed services to Fortune 500 companies. Under his leadership, Ahead Group has expanded across the APAC region, with additional offices and group companies. His latest venture, Ahead Systems, was established in 2023 to develop specialized business software solutions.
