Summary

Ahead Group is looking for a Cisco High Touch Engineer (HTE) to join a client in the global IT services and engineering sector. The ideal candidate will lead the stable operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of large-scale customer network systems built on Cisco technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with enterprise clients as a dedicated technical advisor, ensuring system availability, performance, and long-term reliability through proactive problem-solving and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support and advisory services to enterprise clients using Cisco-based infrastructure (Routing, Switching, Security, or Wireless).

• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and resolution during critical network incidents, coordinating with internal teams and client stakeholders.

• Perform risk and trend analysis of customer systems to identify potential issues and propose preventive improvements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system stability, performance, and operational efficiency.

• Maintain strong customer engagement through regular communication and long-term relationship building.

• Contribute to the development of technical documentation and best practices.

• Occasionally travel to the client’s technical site in Tsukuba (1–4 times per month).

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or Technical Support Engineer working with Cisco products.

• Deep practical knowledge of Routing/Switching, Security (ASA, Firepower), or Wireless (WLC, Meraki) technologies.

• 5+ years of experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting large-scale enterprise or carrier networks.

• Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills, able to handle complex technical challenges under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both management and engineering teams.

• Fluent or native-level Japanese (required for direct client interaction).

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Desired Skills

• CCNP or CCIE certification.

• Experience managing long-term (2+ years) client engagements.

• Familiarity with automation or scripting tools such as Python.

• Self-driven, collaborative team player able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Work Location

• Tokyo (Head office or client site)

• Hybrid work style (office + remote)

• Business travel to Tsukuba, Ibaraki (1–4 times per month)
