Summary

Ahead Group is looking for a Software Analysis & Tools Engineer to join a client in the Tech and Automotive software sector. The ideal candidate will support the fix–compile–release cycle of debug software, develop automation tools, and analyze system logs to identify and resolve complex software defects while working closely with senior engineers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own the fix–compile–release cycle of debug software to support rapid customer response

• Develop and maintain tools and scripts to automate build and release processes

• Analyze system logs and trace data to identify root causes of software defects

• Collaborate with senior software engineers to investigate and resolve complex bugs

• Participate in real-time debugging sessions with customers

• Optimize and maintain build systems and CI/CD pipelines

• Propose and implement tooling and process improvements to enhance development efficiency and quality

Required Skills

• Software development experience within the automotive industry

• Strong experience with scripting languages such as Python

• Hands-on experience with build systems and release processes

• Proficiency in log analysis, debugging tools, and root-cause analysis

• Experience with embedded software development using C/C++ and Python

• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins

• Experience using version control systems such as Git

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Fluent Japanese (reading, writing, speaking)

• Business-level English (reading, writing, speaking)

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams

• Strong communication skills with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders

• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)

Desired Skills

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry

• Experience delivering software or systems architecture solutions

• Exposure to security testing practices

• Knowledge of Automotive SPICE

• Experience supporting or mentoring junior engineers
